at the weekend 和 on the weekend，哪个才是在周末



Saturday + Sunday = the weekend，其中的 weekend 不能写成分开的 week 和 end 或 week-end，那么在周末是 at the weekend 还是 on the weekend 呢？

一、at the weekend 和 on the weekend 的区别

首先一句话总结这两个介词短语的区别，at the weekend 用于英式英语，而 on the weekend 用于美式英语，因此两者都没错，都意为”在周末“，通常指即将到来的周末（the weekend to come），可以指周末两天，也可以指星期六或星期天。然而，不能用 in the weekend 表示在周末。例如：

二、weekends

因为法定假日落到星期五或星期一，所以 long weekend 通常指至少包含三天的 weekend，例如：
